Job Purpose

The role of the Stewarding Supervisor is to assist and lead the Stewarding Team in the cleaning and organising of the designated kitchen locations and all used items and utensils and equipment. Reports directly to: Production Chef, and in his/her absence, to the Catering Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning projects as assigned.

• Assist in the training of new stewards as required.
• Ensure that floors are swept and mopped; keep floors clean and dry, spills are picked up immediately using wet floor signs, dry rags, and dry mops.
• Clean walls, tables, racks, sinks, floor mats and disposal area.
• Clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, steam tables, flat boxes and ceiling vents, according to schedule or as specified by the Production Chef.
• Maintain organisation and ensure proper storage and cleaning of all rolling stock and racks, silver, presoaking and operation of dishwashing machine.
• Ensure all trash is emptied at end of shifts; containers washed out and returned to kitchens.
• Cleaning of the canteen, and other staff facilities as required.
• Report shortages and requisitions replacement of equipment to Production Chef.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Any other duties which may crop up from time to time, linked to the duties above due to the exigencies of the operation
