CareMalta Ltd is looking for a dedicated Sous Chef to join our team!

Position: Sous Chef 

Locations: Gozo & Malta

Main Duties:

• Assist the Head Chef in meal and sweets preparations, orders, and staff management.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure timely meal preparation.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards.
• Prepare special diets as instructed by the Head Chef/Nursing staff.
• Maintain high standards of health and hygiene.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and areas are cleaned according to schedules.

General Duties:

• Monitor and record refrigeration temperatures daily, reporting any issues immediately.
• Notify the Head Chef of any short or inferior deliveries.
• Clearly label, cover, and properly store all food.
• Complete all kitchen-related documentation.
• Wear the full uniform as required at all times.
• Keep stores, fridges, and freezers tidy and clean.
• Assist with function menus as needed.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use.
• Perform any reasonable duties requested by the Head Chef.
• Participate in energy-saving initiatives.
• Manage dry food and equipment stores, conducting periodic stock-takes.
• Ensure food probing is carried out and recorded before serving.
