SENIOR SECURITY OFFICER

A day in the life of…

As the Senior Security, you will be responsible to assist the Security Manager in all related matters and for implementing and maintaining effective procedures and systems that ensure the well-being of our employees, customers and stakeholders.

Here’s an overview of the responsibilities that you will be tasked with:

Reporting and Assistance:

  • Report directly to the Security Manager and provide daily assistance to support overall security operations.

Operational duties:

  • Oversee daily operations security operations across all the Vassallo Group facilities.
  • Monitor surveillance systems, access controls, and alarm systems.
  • Assist the Security Manager to conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and incident investigations.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of security personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures.

Administrative responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative tasks including rostering, scheduling of shifts and tracking attendance.

Coordination and Liaison:

  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and updating of security protocols and emergency plans.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

We are keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • In possession of a Security licence.
  • Minimum of 2 years local experience within a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Maltese, both verbal and written.
  • Has a strong interest in Health and Safety and in obtaining the relevant certification.
  • Able to keep calm under stressful situations and have excellent time management skills.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and is extremely meticulous.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

PART TIME

The Role

We are looking for a smart and professional person to manage our front office and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. In this role, the selected person will be the first point of contact. She/he will be in charge of giving clients and visitors directions to the various parts of the office, contacting employees, answering phone calls, taking messages, and sorting and distributing mail.

The selected person will be responsible to:

  1. Greet clients and visitors with a positive attitude.
  2. Directing clients and visitors to the respective offices as necessary.
  3. Assisting in administrative tasks as required.
  4. Preparing and setting up of meeting rooms.
  5. Answering phones in a professional manner, and routing calls as necessary.
  6. Sorting and distributing mail.
  7. Provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • In possession of at least an ordinary level of education.
  • Prior experience as a receptionist or in a similar position would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good command of Maltese and English language is a must.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Multi-tasking and can work under pressure and on her/his own initiative.
  • Be competent in Microsoft applications.
  • Have a flexible approach.
  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, by helping out with various tasks as may be required.

HEALTH AND SAFETY, SECURITY MANAGER

FULL TIME

The Role

The Health and Safety, Security Manager will primarily be responsible for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of the Group’s Hotel Health and Safety, Security management systems, to ensure the security of all staff, visitors, and contractors, in line with current Health and Safety, Security legislation. The selected candidate will have the responsibility to maintain the highest standard of facilities management.

Health and Safety Manager

      1. Be of a reference point in Health Safety matters

  • Expected to be conversant and knowledgeable in the Health and Safety law governing the workplace as well as any laws related to the hospitality industry.
  • Acts as a reference point for management by informing, advising, and issuing recommendations on any decisions which impact on or are impacted by the field of Health and Safety.

      2. Regulatory Function

  • Ensures and monitors compliance with legislative, statutory standards, codes and customer specific requirements as may be applicable by Policy and Law on all Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety matters.
  • Follow up on and resolve any documentary requirements relating to safety infringements, stop works notices or any other OHSA Malta non compliances.
  • Be the point of first contact for OHSA Malta, Civil Protection Department as well as any Government Appointed body in all matters related to Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety, and handling or advising on any formal communication which takes place.

      3. Training Function

  • The Health and Safety Manager will assess the types and levels of training required to fulfill the various legal obligations which the Companies adhere to, propose additional training which is an investment in the Group Employees knowledge and skills and assess through the provider the validity of training being given.
  • Ensure and monitor the training in Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety is being given and attended by the required employees.

     4. Liaison function 

  • Internally liaise with the Human Resources Function for the carrying out of risk assessments where competent and the provision of risk assessments through external consultants where required.
  • Liaise with Human Resources Function in case of injury at work incidents to ensure all the follow-ups and investigations are carried out in a professional and complete manner.
  • Liaise and build a relationship of goodwill with OHSA Malta to ensure that communication and requests on behalf of the external entity are carried out in the spirit of amity.

Security Manager:

  • Ensuring that the organisation meets all the required security and associated health and safety objectives.
  • Performs audits of security related performance and conducts physical surveys of premise security.
  • Monitoring and managing security systems and equipment servicing and/or maintenance.
  • Plans, examines, analyses, evaluates, and supervises company security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel.
  • Prepares reports and records for management team.
  • Conducts, supervises, and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of company regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Delegate authority and responsibility to team with supervision, accountability and review, control expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls.
  • Direct, manage and maintain contact with internal and external clients/customers for feedback and to obtain client/customer satisfaction information.
  • To maintain and improve mechanisms for risk assessment and disseminate feedback to the appropriate internal entities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar senior management role and leading/managing a team.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be considered as an asset.
  • Health and Safety Qualification/Certification.
  • Good Command of the English language and Maltese language.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.

The Role

We are seeking to recruit a Human Resources Manager who shall be responsible for managing one of the Group’s Hotels. He/she will be overseeing the various aspects of HR operations and supporting strategic initiatives within the organization. This role encompasses recruitment, driving strategic initiatives, employee lifecycle management, learning and development, compliance and procedures, amongst other duties and responsibilities.

The selected person will be responsible for:

  1. Recruitment
  • Develop recruitment strategies and create compelling job advertisements.
  • Carry out recruitment and selection.
  • Collaborate with the relevant recruitment partners and job portals to attract top talent.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and selection process.

       2. Strategic Initiatives and Employee Engagement

  • Put forward strategic recommendations for implementation in relation to talent management, employee engagement, performance management etc.
  • Plan and support employee engagement activities as well as put forward team building initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive employee development and career growth opportunities.

       3. Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR Policies, Procedures and Regulations.

       4. Learning and Development

  • Manage learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Deliver training as necessary.

       5. Compliance and Procedures:

  • Maintain HR policies and procedures compliant with the relevant labor laws, EU directives and regulations.

The Selected person must be flexible to perform any other HR related duties as assigned and based on the needs and priorities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar senior management role and leading/managing a team.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be considered as an asset.
  • A degree in Occupational Human Resources and/or Hospitality, or a related field, at MQF level 6 or higher.
  • Good Command of the English language and Maltese language.
  • He/she enjoys being around people.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
